Monday Money #53 Clean Eating and Drinking Water

And here are back at half term again. How do they come around so quickly? Its the last term for Dylan at his primary school so we have lots of stuff going on. Mrs Mummypenny world is very busy and the weeks just seem to fly by. Last week Dylan was away for PGL for three days. He came back on Friday absolutely shattered, some of the other children thought it would be funny to stay up until 2am, and then he was woken at 5am by another child missing their parent:-(. He didn’t really enjoy it. Frustrating, as it cost £290!! I am glad that we didn’t spend any extra money on gear for the trip, we borrowed, or he wore trainers a tad too small, just about to be chucked!

I had to share this picture from my day in London on Thursday. It was glorious!

Half Term Time

So yes its bank holiday Monday and half term. I have to admit I sort of forgot and arranged a few London meetings for Thursday which I have now had to cancel. Whoops. We have a few things arranged. Play dates. Football. Haircuts. Photoshoot with a broadsheet for an article soon to be published. And then we go on holiday. Leaving our house and Trev in the capable hands of my neighbours. Saving more money as it means I don’t have to put him in a cattery;-)

I have written a post packed full of money saving tips for a family holiday, even if you are not going until July its worth reading as there is great info on saving money on insurance, travel money, airport parking, flight tips. All sorts.

Love the Sales

I have been doing a tiny bit of holiday shopping. I know that I shouldn’t but there is a website called Love The Sales that has such bargains. Its this great alternative to HotUKDeals, and you can find anything you are looking for in a really easy way. Its got a slick search option that helps you find whatever you are looking for. I have just been browsing Nike trainers for Dylan to replace the old casual trainers now far too small.

Its a site packed with brand name you know and love, Ted Baker, Adidas, Apple, Beats. Go have a look here and see what bargains you can find.

Loco2 – A New Train Ticket Company, Save £5 on next train journey

There is a new train ticket company on the scene. I normally buy my train tickets from Red Spotted Hanky or from the train station. But there is a new way. Loco2 is a great new company that gave me £5 off my first train ticket purchase. As long as the ticket cost is more than £10 you can get a £5 vouchercode. Lovely.

Click here to pop in your email address to get your code. I used it for my normally weekly trip into London which cost me £8 rather than £13. Bargain. You can also pop in the code Lynn James in the who referred you box and it works the same way.

Thank you as this will mean I get an extra £5 off my next train ticket.

Bewater Crystal Water Bottle

This a very exciting product I have discovered via Facebook of all places. I have a beautiful new water bottle that contains crystals of your choice. The crystals are locked away in a container in the middle but their energy seeps through into the water. It is such a beautiful bottle and I can feel the calm and balance when I drink it. And it makes me drink more water!

AND EVEN better I have a 15% discount code for you! I went for plastic bottle with amozonite in the middle, but there lots of other choices, focus, love, intuition. Take a look and see which one you are drawn to. I 100% need balance in my life, hence the green. My discount code to enter is MRSMUMMYPENNY. They all vary in price depending on the crystal you choose.

I have just ordered another for Jack who thinks its an Avengers water bottle. He has gone for the intuition bottle, with plastic blue lid.

Eating Clean Week and Boot Camp

And finally I am doing a week long eat clean and boot camp program with Victoria At Future Fit, a fitness and nutrition business 5 mins down the road from me. We have been given a very clean eating food plan, running from Sun to Sat. Its the usual plan of no sugar, caffeine, meat, alcohol, carbs. Victoria has put together a really lovely food plan and it didnt cost too much. I did the shop yesterday at Aldi and it cost £20 for the week. And I am trying lots of new things.

The boot camp side is hardcore. A class every day for five days, boxing, pilates, circuits, HIIT and core. The perfect pre-holiday body blitz. I am enjoying it so far. I am tired and getting a bit of a headache but that is normally fixed by taking big swigs from my new crystal water bottle.

There are 6 of us doing the program and keeping each other motivated in a whatsapp group. And the cost was VERY reasonable at £65.
